Apply Electrical maintenance expertise to the Electrical equipment to achieve Plant operational goals and objectives as per Shams O&M policies, procedures and Electrical Maintenance Supervisor’s instructions. Ensure that all Electrical works are completed safely, cost effectively and on time.
Safely dismantle and assemble repairs, replacements, preventive/predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance and adjustments for Plant Electrical equipment and/or systems defined under the Plant maintenance plan. Coordinate work with requirements associated with production, availability, reliability and Shams O&M policies, procedures, standards, specifications and manufacturer’s recommendations.

Main Activities
Safety Culture
Follow HSSE and Quality policies and procedures, and ensure that all HSSE measures and precautions are strictly considered and taken care of during the execution of maintenance activities to avoid any activity, which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents / non-conformities.
Perform all electrical related maintenance work strictly as per the Shams PTW procedures.
Enforce good housekeeping after work at site and in the workshop and ensure the workshop and electrical tools are well maintained.
Ensure all contractors working under the electrical PTW follows the safety regulations and procedures at Shams.
Plant Reliability
Ensure at all times the Quality, Reliability, Availability and Maintainability of Shams Power Plant by following existing procedures and to review the existing procedures.
Follow all electrical maintenance plans, procedures and schedules to ensure the reliability of electrical equipment.
Report any shortfall of critical or any required spare parts to the electrical supervisor or lead engineer.
Forward any recommendations to improve the reliability of the plant to the electrical supervisor or lead engineer.
Maintenance
Take ownership of the electrical equipment and strive to reduce equipment downtime and ensure a high level of plant availability.
Execute day to day preventative and corrective maintenance activities as scheduled by the supervisor, lead engineer and PSW team.
Safely perform troubleshooting activities as required along with the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance colleagues and Operations, to determine the root cause of failures and propose remedies to safely and cost effectively eliminate failures in the future.
Maintain a high level of quality work and strive to have zero re-work
Ensure that all contractors perform all maintenance activities under a valid permit to work and that they understand the risks related to the work. Perform Toolbox talk for each job.
Ensure that all contractors have a clear understanding of the scope of work and related method statements and procedures.
Ensure all contractors have all required tools, equipment and PPE to perform the work safely and within the set quality standards.
Record all actuals in Maximo (manpower, spare parts, duration and technical detail) at the completion of each work order.
Strive to perform all work in-house and contract only required work out to contractors.
Assists the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor in preparing and scheduling daily jobs and long term electrical maintenance activities during the outage planning.
Participate in Plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.
Perform emergency related activities after hours as required from time to time.
Perform other activities as defined by the electrical supervisor and lead engineer.

Job Holder works in the Maintenance Department under supervision of the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Holder can either work during day or night shift depending on the nature of works to be performed.
Job Holder supports reliable and accessible 24-hour call-out functionality.
Job Holder works outdoors and indoors.
Job Holder’s role is defined by the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor. The responsibility and authority of the Job Holder is subject to the demands of the work scope and criticality.
Job Holder is required to understand and promptly act safely upon operational instructions, respond safely and effectively in urgent situations, make quick decisions in the event of breakdown or failure to safeguard personnel and the Plant.
Job Holder shall solve problems in accordance with Shams O&M Policies and Procedures.
Job Holder works closely with other Maintenance Technicians and Contractors to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently and to a high quality standard.
External: OEM, vendors, Contractors and Sub-Contractors’ operational staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
High School and/or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Technology.
Qualified Electrician
Certified mobile elevated platform operator
Driving License
Certified TRANSCO Competency is an advantage
Experience
At least 5-year experience in Electrical maintenance of large power generation or continuous process plants.
Hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Motors, switchgears, generators, transformers and other electrical equipment.
Skills
Highly proactive and self-motivated.
Team player, good interpersonal skills.
Proficient with PC software’s and CMMS
Good command of oral and written English, Arabic is an advantage.
