Identify 'Hidden risks' in the power station plant due to corrosion and deterioration of pressure equipment effectively and efficiently and mitigate it without impact on production.

Key Responsibilities:
Main Activities
Inspection and NDT
Develop and update inspection manual, including required inspection procedures.
Inspects static plant equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, towers, piping, structures, furnaces, etc. Develops repair procedures and makes recommendations accordingly. Participate in actual fieldwork of equipment inspection, non-destructive tests, PSVs, and welding inspection.
Issue repair procedures for running plants and new installations to assure the quality of construction and specifications on both on-site and vendor locations.
Develop and supervise welding, heat treatment, and pressure tests procedures on the equipment during a repair, analyze and report on the inspection observations during start-up.
Supervise and participate in non-destructive testing of equipment and piping and reviews the preliminary interpretations.
Conducts corrosion investigation and monitoring and recommends preventive measures.
Prepare scope of work for technical bids for sub-contracted inspection, corrosion, and NDT works.
Assess inspection results and issue inspection certificates with a recommendation.
Keep records for inspection and NDT reports and certificates.
Keep abreast of cutting-edge advanced inspection and NDT technology and implement it within SHAMS
Optimize and follow up the budget for effective inspection execution and reducing costs
Corrosion & Material selection and Faiular Analysis
Identify corrosion loops and develop a risk matrix for risk-based inspection methodology.
Suprvise corrosion control activities, including cathodic protection system.
Calculate corrosion rates and predict the remaining life of the equipment for the next endorsement.
Lead and coordinate failure analysis case studies task forces and issue recommendation.
Reviews comprehensive engineering packages regarding material selection and mechanical integrity related to major projects/modifications & procedures for inspection approval.
Keep records for corrosion monitoring reports and certificates.
Keep abreast of cutting-edge corrosion monitoring technology and implement it within SHAMS
Material receiving and technical bids evaluation
Review and approve material test certificates.
Inspect material to determine compliance with standards, codes, and specifications.
Develop scope of work and participate in technical bids evaluation.
General
Ensures that the company HSE policy, procedures, regulations, and objectives within the area of responsibility are effectively implemented in the domain. Ensures that work under control is performed safely and environmentally soundly by appropriate monitoring and review. Ensures effective accident investigation and follow up.
Mentor UAE national juniors.
Evaluated and developed consultant, research bodies, and contractor capability to align with company’s
requirements for corrosion, material selections, inspection, welding and NDT.
Provide management reporting of work status and progress on a quarterly and periodic basis for management reporting.
Performs other related duties assigned by the Operation and optimization Manager, such as contractor evaluation, interview candidates, and general issues of inspection and NDT assurance activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Degree in Metallurgical / Mechanical Engineering with a broad background in power station
API & NDT certification.
Experience
Knowledge of Operations and Safety; hazard management processes and their implementation.
Knowledge of International safety and inspection, corrosion, and NDT regulations as they apply in the SHAMS context
Demonstrates good working knowledge of design, fabrication and installation practices, operational service conditions for pressure equipment and their inspection requirements, including pressure vessels, Storage tanks and piping, pipelines and associated structural steelwork and supports.
Good working knowledge of quality management systems, auditing in projects and operations.
Demonstrates an understanding of the root cause analysis, investigation, and identifying potential equipment situation leading to in-service failures in relation to inspection and corrosion.
Min. 8 years' experience in inspection, corrosion and NDT Management in a power station or equivalent fields out of which at least two years in coordinating Inspection and NDT Contracts and two years in Leadership roles.
Skills
Good command of and excellent oral and written English. Arabic is an advantage
Highly proactive and self-motivated, capable of handling multiple tasks and problem-solving and analysis
Proficient with PC software and CMMS, able to write technical reports and procedures.
